In command prompt, type in nslookup google.com and press enter key, you will see 8.8.8.8 DNS server is used to resolve website google.com. This is a confirmation that DNS has been set and is working.

To clear DNS cache on Windows XP, type in ipconfig /flushdns and press enter key.

Open Control Panel

1. Click Network and Internet

1. Click Change Adapter Settings

1. Right Click Local Area Connection

1. Click Properties

1. Double Click IPV 4

2. Click OK

1. Tick "Use the following DNS server addresses"

then type in 8.8.8.8, and 8.8.4.4 just like on the screen below

2. Click OK

1. Right-click on same network adapter

2. select Status

Under network connection details, you will see 8.8.8.8, and 8.8.4.4 as DNS servers. This is a confirmation that DNS has been set.

1. Click on Close button, then click on Close button again.

Click Windows Start Button

1. type in the search box "cmd"

2. click the cmd button
